Relative pronouns

Relative pronouns

In English the relative pronouns are "that", "which", "who", "whom", and "whose". Relative pronouns provide a link between a dependent clause in which they appear, specifically a relative clause, and a noun phrase in an independent clause, as in these examples:
"The concept that I am speaking of is new."
"The concept of which I am speaking is new."
"The shirt, which used to be red, is faded."
"The man who saw me was tall."
"The man whom I saw was tall."
"The man whose car is missing is angry."
