Lesson 7: Here, There, Where?
Goal: To say or ask where something is. Will also add "excuse me".
This lesson builds on lesson 6. If you have already learnt lesson 6, then this one should be fairly easy.
New Vocabulary:
ここ (Koko) - Here. Used to describe somewhere near the speaker.
そこ (Soko) - There. Used to describe somewhere near the listener.
あそこ (Asoko) - Over there. Used to describe somewhere far from both the speaker and the listener.
どこ (Doko) - Where.
Notice the similarity between this vocabulary and the vocabulary in the previous lesson?
Kore, Sore, Are and Dore have changed to Koko, Soko, Asoko, Doko.
すみません (Sumimasen) - Excuse me.
Previous Vocabulary:
です か? (desu ka?) Makes the sentence into a question.
ほん (hon) Book.
ぺん (pen) Pen. (There are other words for this too, but we'll use an easy one today.)
こくばん (kokuban) Blackboard.
Practice:
We'll use the same picture as in lesson 6.
すみません、 ほん は どこ です か?
Sumimasen, hon ha (wa) doko desu ka?
ほん は ここ です。
Hon ha (wa) koko desu.
Note: I'm going to stop writing "ha (wa)". I'll write it as "ha", but you should read it as "wa". As my Japanese friends said, you just need to get used to it.

Re: Lesson 7: Here, There, Where?
heya, found a small typo in the sentence "すみません、 ぺん どこ です か?", you added in the romaji the topic marker particle, but forgot it in the actual sentence. (also in "
すみません、 こくばん どこ です か?")
すみません、 こくばん どこ です か?")
