Lesson 8: Review
There is plenty of content so far, so it must be time for a review.
All vocabulary:
Lesson 3:
すき (Suki) - Like (The pronunciation of the "u" is very short, so it sounds like "ski")
だいすき (Daisuki) - Love (This also sounds like "die ski")
きらい (Kirai) - Dislike
だいきらい (Daikirai) - Hate
アイス (Aisu) - Ice cream. Short "u" sound makes it sound like "ice"
です (Desu) - No meaning, but makes the sentence politer. The "u" sound is short here too, so it sounds like "dess".
け-き (Keeki) - Cake
ピザ (Piza) - Pizza
ジュース (Juusu) - Juice
Lesson 4:
は (ha, but pronounced "wa") - Indicates the topic
が (ga) - Indicates the subject
お (o) - Indicates objects
と (to) - And
から (kara) - Away from
に (ni) - Toward
の (no) - Of
で (de) - In
Lesson 5:
はこ (Hako) - Box
ボトル (Botoru) - Bottle
はいって います (Haitte imasu) - In
Lesson 6:
これ (kore) means something near the speaker. Similar to "this" in English.
それ (sore) means something near the listener. Similar to "that" in English.
あれ (are) means something far from the listener and speaker. Similar to "that" in English.
どれ (dore) means "which?"
か?(ka?) basically is the same as adding a "?" to a sentence.
です か? (desu ka?) The same as "か?", but politer.
ほん (hon) Book.
ぺん (pen) Pen. (There are other words for this too, but we'll use an easy one today.)
こくばん (kokuban) Blackboard.
Lesson 7:
ここ (Koko) - Here. Used to describe somewhere near the speaker.
そこ (Soko) - There. Used to describe somewhere near the listener.
あそこ (Asoko) - Over there. Used to describe somewhere far from both the speaker and the listener.
どこ (Doko) - Where.
すみません (Sumimasen) - Excuse me.
Practice:
A: すみません、 はこ に け-き が はいって います。
B: どこ です か?
A: あそこ です。
B: け-き だいすき です。
A: だいきらい です。 ピザ と アイス は すき です。
B: この はこ に ピザ が はいって います。
